High pressure sodium (HPS) lamps are still the most chosen light bulb by growers. Because the high efficiency and the heat they radiate.
The FIREFLY bulb is a double ended (DE) lamp. Meaning the light bulb has two sockets on each side, through which the bulb fits seamlessly into the fixture. The inner tube is usually shorter and considerably thinner than a regular HPS lamp. As a result, the DE lamp produces a much more intense light from a much smaller focal point.
The bulb is not made of glass but from superior quartz. The inside of the DE bulb consists of nitrogen instead of xenon or argon, which improves the heat conductivity. All in all, a DE lamp produces 10-30% more light and is far more sustainable than a single ended bulb.
